Thirty years. I have wondered what thirty years feels like. We hear phrases like twenty five to life - etc. They're meaningless to us; until we've lived a twenty five to life exisitence. Our prisons aren't all stone and barbed wire. We are each other's jailers. In the past three decades (I'm 64), I've seen the U.S. of North America steadily devolve. There are so many variables. Just in my lifetime, I've seen a shift from rural to urban, from production to information, from newsprint to electronic, from reporting to shilling, from religious freedom to religious law, and on, and on. We the people are at the mercy of ourselves. We are herded into uncompromising positions of self destruction by shallow, vain politicos with connections to corporate rule and criminal underground. We shout hurray for Morning in America because we're afraid of the Evening in America. How did a nation of freedoms become a nation of bullies; bullies who are afraid of one another to the point that we legalize carrying concealed weapons as though having a loaded gun at all times would be a solution to our fears. But if you're reading this, you probably know the back story. If you don't, then growth and development through dialogue will bring your own back story into the light. We all suffer in a constricted political environment. When politicians get in bed with the corporations, we have facism. We line up to be sickened and slaughtered by this evil partnership; singing about the sweet bye and bye while our bodies and minds are bought and sold as commodities to profit those sociopaths who have clawed their way to corporate and political positions of authority. Awareness isn't present. Thirty years. I saw it all. When I was 22, there was an oil embargo and inflation - and our response as a nation was to join the gang rather than to rely on our principles and fight for the planet and for ourselves. Some of us knew in our hearts that we were heading down the dark path. But even though we knew..we still proceeded - trusting that "god" would somehow sort things out in the end. Yes, that's another blind spot - dogma, religious or political; substituted for spiritual growth through freedom of thought. Now, we are reaping the whirlwind. There isn't one answer. But if there is one guide; it is to go inside ones self and find ones' own personal power to stand up for each other. President Obama is an empowered man. An empowered person can empower others. We all need to come to grips with the undeniable fact that the earth is our mother; and we have to be our own father. Which father image do you think you are? The stern taskmaster who punishes to "teach a lesson," or the loving father who objectively empowers his child, teaching his daughter to be brave and stand up for herself and teaching his son that true power is in letting go rather than grasping.

I'm brand new on this site - what attracted me was its' name - Cognitive policy - it's certainly true that this is a nation that is running over with cognitive dissonance!! It seems to me that "trust" - which is part of the cure - is contained in ethical considerations. I have a website just put up -not completed www.debatingethicallysearchingfortruth.com
The website name is it's mission statement.
Any and all comments would be so much appreciated....Thank you...
